Our People ​

The Flying Lady team was founded by a Colorado-based family of adventure seekers. We are skiers, pilots, hikers and anglers who are dedicated to all things “fun”. Along with our Napa-based Winemaker, Leigh Meyering we set out into the world of winemaking. Like our symbol, the Flying Lady, we are committed to producing wine with uncompromised quality, excellence, and a spirit of adventure.

Our Places

Our most significant characteristics are rooted in the soil and vines of our Napa Vineyards. For our 2015 and 2016 releases, we utilized fruit from the L’Attitude Vineyard in Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll District to produce our single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. This sliver of land bordering Dry Creek sits at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain Range on the Alluvial Fan and receives the drainage of the entire Mayacamas Range. The confluence of rich soil and consistent hydration and drainage cycles delivers amazing high-quality grapes.

Beginning with our 2017 vintage and moving forward with all our varietals, we source from the exceptional York Creek Vineyard, which sits high on Spring Mountain alongside the Flying Lady Winery and Estate. The appellation lies on steep terraces of the Mayacamas Mountains that separate Napa Valley from Sonoma Valley. Local topography and regional weather patterns make the Spring Mountain District the coolest and wettest appellation within the Napa Valley. These same factors create a diurnal fluctuation in temperature in the summertime that differs from other regions of the Napa Valley. The resulting rare and high-quality mountain fruit is vibrant and unique, producing an overall more complex, interesting flavor.

Our Progress​

Like so many of our friends and neighbors in Napa Valley, Flying Lady Winery was affected by the Glass Fire. Unfortunately, our winery was destroyed just weeks after completing a major renovation of the 60-year-old building. True to brand, we see rebuilding as our next adventure. Permits have been submitted for a brand-new winery and 1,200 sq ft indoor/outdoor tasting room that overlooks our vineyards, Spring Mountain, and the Valley below. Once complete, we will once again invite guests to venture up to the property, enjoy a tasting and hang out amongst one of the best views in Napa.

Our Partner​

Angel Flight West is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs. Its network of 1,400+ pilots throughout the 13 western states donate their aircraft, piloting skills, and all flying costs to help families in need, enabling them to receive vital treatment that might otherwise be inaccessible because of financial, medical, or geographic limitations.

The Flying Lady team is honored to fly missions for Angel Flight West and to be a presenting sponsor at its annual fundraising gala, The Endeavor Awards.
